Homeschool Spring Glazing Class: Mother's Day Mug

Join us for a fun kids glazing class where students will decorate a 10oz ceramic mug with complete creative freedom. This class focuses on surface design and colour application, making it approachable and engaging for all skill levels—no pottery experience required.


Students will create a functional, food-safe mug using their own imagination to specially design a mug just for mom.


Class Overview

Duration: 1.5 hours

Location: Next of Kiln Studio

Materials Provided: Bisque-fired ceramic mug, wax resist, food-safe glazes, and all necessary tools

Class Size: Limited to 16 children for hands-on instruction and support


What Students Will Learn

• How to use wax resist to create patterns and designs

• Basic glazing techniques and colour application

• How wax and glaze interact during the firing process

• Care and expectations for finished ceramic pieces


Who Should Attend

• Homeschooled children (ages 5+) interested in art and creativity

• Beginners with no prior glazing or ceramics experience

• Kids who enjoy hands-on, guided art projects
