Our earthenware pieces (what you paint in a regular studio session) are not safe for the dishwasher or microwave. All our ceramics and glazes are food and dinnerware-safe unless otherwise noted. Earthenware can heat unevenly, so we recommend gentle use. To keep your piece looking its best for years, hand washing is always recommended.
If you’re looking for more durable, everyday kitchenware, consider taking one of our stoneware classes—these pieces are made for regular, long-term use. While stoneware is technically dishwasher and microwave-safe, frequent dishwasher use can gradually wear down some glazes. Hand washing is always the best way to preserve your stoneware.
