About the event

Santa's Snack Stop Merry Family Makers Workshop

Parent + Youth (Ages 8+) Handbuilding Workshop

Make a little Christmas magic together in this festive, side-by-side pottery experience designed for parents and kids to create together.

In this two-hour guided workshop, each participant will make their own Christmas piece using beginner-friendly handbuilding techniques. Parents will create a festive Santa snack plate — perfect for leaving out cookies on Christmas Eve — while kids will build an adorable Christmas tree to add to the holiday table or display at home.

No pottery experience is needed. We'll guide you through every step in a relaxed, creative environment where the goal is to slow down, make something together, and enjoy a little Christmas magic.

All pieces will be professionally glazed and kiln-fired after the workshop and ready for pickup in approximately 4-6 weeks.

Why You'll Love This Workshop

  • Spend quality, screen-free time creating together.

  • Make handmade Christmas pieces you'll actually use and bring out year after year.

  • Learn real pottery techniques in a relaxed, beginner-friendly studio.

  • Create something special together that can't be bought in a store.

  • Start a new family Christmas tradition.

Your Projects

Parent Project — Santa's Snack Plate

Skill Focus: Rolling slabs, shaping plates, and adding decorative details.

Create a festive plate made especially for Santa's Christmas Eve snack stop. Add your own textures, patterns, and details to make it uniquely yours — then bring it out every Christmas Eve for cookies, carrots, or whatever Santa's favourite treat happens to be.

Youth Project — Merry Little Christmas Tree

Skill Focus: Building simple forms using coiling and joining techniques.

Kids will create their own ceramic Christmas tree to display at home throughout the holiday season. They'll learn basic handbuilding techniques while adding their own festive details and personality to their little tree.
